The Songkran festival in Thailand is very popular amongst travelers, and it’s easy to see why. Who wouldn’t want to relive their childhood by spending a week running around the city taking part in the world’s biggest water fight?
Songkran takes place every year on April 13th, but is really a week-long festival best experienced in Chiang Mai. A square-kilometer surrounded by a moat makes access to water just a little too easy. Also take a look at the other side of Songkran involving cultural activities.
I was in Chaing Mai for Songkran in 2014 – what an absolute highlight. But my pics aren’t anywhere near the level of these – amazing! Thanks for bringing up these great memories.
