Flashpacker HQ is the travel photography and storytelling platform of professional photographer Travis Ball.

I work with destinations, accommodations, tour operators, travel publications, and relevant brands to create distinctive photography and useful content that helps people imagine—and plan—their own experiences.

Based in Las Vegas and available for travel, I bring a documentary approach to every project: authentic moments, a strong sense of place, and polished imagery that can be used across websites, editorial features, social media, and marketing campaigns.

Ways We Can Work Together

Destination and Travel Photography

Show travelers what makes a place worth experiencing.

Assignments can include neighborhoods, landmarks, food, culture, outdoor activities, festivals, local businesses, and the details that give a destination its personality.

Hotels and Hospitality

Create a more complete visual story of the guest experience.

Coverage can include accommodations, amenities, dining, atmosphere, surrounding attractions, and candid lifestyle imagery—not just empty rooms and architectural photographs.

Tours, Activities, and Experiences

Document what it actually feels like to participate.

I can photograph tours, guides, excursions, transportation experiences, outdoor adventures, and cultural activities from a traveler’s perspective.

Travel and Outdoor Brands

Introduce useful products through authentic travel situations.

Potential projects include gear photography, destination-based product imagery, field testing, sponsored features, and honest reviews for products that are genuinely relevant to Flashpacker HQ’s audience.

Image Licensing

Flashpacker HQ includes an extensive archive of travel, destination, cultural, and event photography created across years of international travel.

Existing images may be licensed for editorial, commercial, web, social, or promotional use. If the right image does not already exist, custom photography can be discussed.

Potential Deliverables

Professionally edited, high-resolution photographs

Web- and social-media-ready image selections

Destination or experience photo essays

Sponsored articles or practical travel features

Behind-the-scenes and short-form social content

Existing-image licensing

Custom usage rights for your website, marketing, press, or social channels

About Travis Ball

I created Flashpacker HQ in 2010 while traveling and teaching English in Japan. What began as a way to share photographs and stories developed into a collection of destination guides, travel resources, photo essays, and firsthand experiences from years on the road.

Today, I bring that travel background together with my professional photography experience to create visual content that is both polished and grounded in genuine experience.

A Good Partnership Fit

Flashpacker HQ is especially interested in working with:

  • Tourism boards and destination-marketing organizations
  • Hotels, resorts, hostels, and distinctive accommodations
  • Tour companies and local experience providers
  • Transportation and travel-service companies
  • Outdoor, photography, luggage, and travel-gear brands
  • Travel publications and editorial clients
  • Festivals and cultural events
  • Organizations promoting independent, experiential, or adventure travel

Hosted and discounted travel collaborations are welcome when the project offers a strong editorial and photographic fit. Complimentary travel or products do not guarantee positive coverage, and sponsored or affiliate relationships will be disclosed clearly.

Previous Partnership: New Zealand with Stray

Flashpacker HQ previously partnered with Stray to document an extended trip through New Zealand.

The collaboration resulted in a multi-post travel series, extensive photography, destination coverage, and firsthand reporting about the experience of traveling through the country.

This kind of sustained visual storytelling can give a destination or travel company far more useful material than a single promotional mention.

From Idea to Finished Images

Every partnership can be tailored to the destination, audience, and campaign.

1. Define the Story

We align on the goals, audience, location, deliverables, schedule, and usage rights.

2. Create the Content

I capture authentic, professional travel imagery with an experienced documentary approach.

3. Deliver Ready-to-Use Assets

You receive carefully edited images in the agreed formats, ready for publication or promotion.

Let’s Discuss Your Project

If you represent a destination, accommodation, tour, publication, event, or travel-related brand, tell me what you are promoting, what visual content you need, and where the project will take place.

I can then recommend an appropriate scope, deliverables, licensing arrangement, and project quote.
