“Cosplay”, short for Costume Play, is not just big in Japan, it’s HUGE! Â I was traveling through Hakata/Fukoka in Japan when I heard about this festival and knew I had to go. Â What photographer could resist a variety of kids in costume hamming it up for the cameras. Â There were really only about 30 participants, but they were all really into it. Â The girl above was probably the only costume I recognized, as many of the characters come from Japanese manga and anime.
